When we started this company in 1976, shower doors were quite plain and simple, usually consisting of glass with embedded wire in a bulky frame, surrounded by simple, single-color subway tiles. Over the years the shower, or wet area, has evolved into a beautiful living space that is often one of the highlighted selling points of a home. Shower walls have evolved greatly, offering a multitude of materials including granite, marble, limestone, quartzite, slate, onyx, porcelain tile, ceramic tile, man made quartz, faux concrete, cultured marble, and fiberglass. The design permutations are limitless with different shapes, colors, and textures. The appearance can be further enhanced by adding decorative bands, trims, or accent pieces.
The shower door and enclosure can further be personalized with a variety of structural options. We offer an old-style semi-frameless enclosure, which utilizes thinner glass and simple lightweight framing. A step up would offer the Euro-style frameless door and enclosure using a hinge door that can be combined with single or multiple fixed panels to enclose the shower. This design utilizes thicker, more structural glass for a simple, elegant appearance. In recent years we have begun offering the increasingly popular barn-style sliding door. We are also now offering the grid-style doors as seen on Pinterest.
Lastly, we offer several types of glass from which to choose. The most popular choices are clear or textured glass. Clear glass comes in a couple of types: Standard clear, which has a high iron content, which gives it a greenish hue that some people like, or Starphire, an upgrade, a low iron product without the greenish tinge. A popular final finish would be to apply a hydrophobic coating to the glass, which seals the pores, making the glass much easier to maintain. (Under a microscope, glass has surprisingly deep texture. This hydrophobic coating levels that coarse surface. Visualize pouring clear epoxy over a rough cement floor.)

Grids used in conjunction with shower doors has had an increasing demand in the last several years as seen on Pinterest.
In tight spaces the use of a neo angle shower will give you the ability to keep that open feeling and still meet your required needs.
If you are building a shower area it is wise to design it so the shower head is on the wall that isn’t going to shoot at the door as frame-less showers are not watertight and you will possibly get some water outside the door. Try not to use any wood products in the room as it is a wet room an wood will not hold up over time. Make sure that the tile installers put a pitch towards the shower on any horizontal surfaces, such as curbs or pony walls, so water will not puddle and mildew. Try to get the walls as straight as possible so there are not large gaps that need to be filled with silicone. We recommend that you do not use glass tile where any of the shower door hardware is attached as it will crack because of the weight of the door and the amount of torque on the hinges required. We recommend that wood is installed behind the tile at the hinges.
